Ealyx is a technology company that allows to pay for new purchases with used items. Your items are valued remotely during your shopping process, and their estimated value can be used as part of the payment for your new purchase.
What is a Trade-in?
A trade-in is a process where you sell a used item and apply its value as credit toward your new purchase. By trading in items you no longer need, you can unlock their value instantly to make your purchase more affordable. It’s a convenient way to shop sustainably!
How do I start using Ealyx?
Getting started with Ealyx is easy! When shopping at any of our partner stores, look for the option to trade in your used items with Ealyx. Click on one of our widgets to open a window where you can quickly fill out a short form to get an estimated value for your item.
Once you have your item’s estimated value, you’ll often see Ealyx Pay as a payment option at checkout. Choose Ealyx Pay to instantly apply the trade-in value as a discount on your new purchase. Just follow the prompts to complete your payment, and enjoy your instant discount!
How does the Trade-in with Ealyx work?
The process is simple and follows these steps:
- Remote Valuation: We provide an estimated value for your used items based on the information you share, using our proprietary technology.
- Pay Your Purchase with Trade-in: Accept a valuation offer to apply the trade-in value toward your new purchase. If you choose Ealyx Pay at checkout, the estimated trade-in value will be credited instantly, allowing you to select a convenient payment plan. If Ealyx Pay is not offered or you do not choose it at checkout, you can complete the purchase with another payment method, and the trade-in amount will be paid to you after inspection.
- Ship Your Item: Once your purchase is complete, you’ll receive instructions on how to ship your item to us.
- Inspection: Our buyback partner will inspect your item to verify its condition. If there are any differences from the initial description, we’ll reach out to confirm before finalizing the sale.
- Payment Plan Adjustment: After inspection, the confirmed value will be applied to reduce any remaining payments for your purchase. If there is an outstanding balance, it will be charged according to the payment plan you selected.

What kinds of items can I Trade-in?
Ealyx offers trade-in options for over 25,000 eligible items across various categories—and this list is ever-growing! Commonly accepted items include consumer electronics, home appliances, musical instruments, sports equipment, fashion items, and more. Check with each partner store for a full list of eligible items.
How is the value of my Trade-in determined?
The value of your used item is calculated using our advanced valuation system, which considers several factors, including the item’s condition, brand, model, age, and current market demand. Additionally, our system takes into account offers from our buyback partners to provide you with the best possible value.
Can I use the Trade-in value immediately?
Yes, in many cases, you can use the estimated trade-in value right away toward your purchase when you select Ealyx Pay at checkout. If you choose any other payment method, the trade-in amount will be paid to you after the item is inspected.
What is a buyback partner and what is their role in the process?
Our buyback partners are specialized companies that purchase the items you sell. They inspect each item to confirm its condition and ensure it meets the specified requirements. Once the inspection is complete, the buyback partner directly acquires the item, providing a secure and efficient process for you.
What happens if the estimated value does not match the value once the item is inspected?
If the estimated value of your item differs from the final value determined after inspection, we will notify you of the difference. This discrepancy shouldn’t occur if you’ve accurately answered questions about your item’s condition. You can choose to accept the inspected value or decline it and have your item returned. Returns are typically processed within 10 working days, and associated costs may apply depending on the retailer or in cases of items that do not meet approval criteria.
If you accept the inspected value and used Ealyx Pay, your payment plan will be adjusted to reflect the confirmed value, with any outstanding balance charged according to your selected plan. If you did not choose Ealyx Pay, the adjusted trade-in amount will be paid to the bank account of your choosing.
Is shipping of trade-in items always free?
Yes, shipping is free when you use the prepaid shipping label provided in the email you receive after completing a purchase with a trade-in enabled by Ealyx.
Is it possible to recover the item after accepting the offer?
Once you accept an offer for your item, requesting its return to you is no longer possible. This policy ensures a smooth and secure process with our buyback partners. However, if the final inspection results in a different valuation from the initial estimate, you’ll have the option to review the new offer and, if you choose, request that your item be returned to you.
Note for electronic devices:
- SIM and memory cards sent with your device will be securely destroyed.
- If inspection reveals that an embedded battery is damaged, the device cannot be returned for safety reasons.
What is Ealyx Pay?
Ealyx Pay is a payment method that allows you to use the value of items you sell to pay for purchases instantly at partner stores. By selecting Ealyx Pay at checkout, you can apply the estimated value of your used item as an immediate discount. This makes shopping easier by enabling you to benefit from the value of your used items right away, without waiting for the inspection process to be completed.
Who can use Ealyx Pay?
The availability of Ealyx Pay is determined by each partner store’s configuration, which may vary based on their specific criteria.
To use Ealyx Pay when offered at checkout, you generally need to meet the following requirements:
- Be a resident in the country associated to your purchase. Currently, Ealyx Pay is available in Spain, France, Portugal, and Italy, with plans to expand to more regions soon.
- Be of legal age.
- Have a card eligible for online payments.
- Have a phone capable of receiving SMS.
- Complete our quick eligibility check with our lending partners, who may assess your request to ensure suitability.
I can’t make the initial payment, what can I do?
If you’re having trouble completing a payment, please check the following:
- Ensure your card is enabled for online payments.
- Confirm that your card is active and hasn’t been deactivated.
- Verify that your card hasn’t expired.
- Double-check that you’ve entered all details correctly (card number, expiry date, and CVC).
- Make sure you have the latest version of your banking app to confirm the payment.
- Check that there is sufficient balance available.
- Please note that, for now, our partners processing the payment accept VISA and Mastercard only.
Are there any fees for using Ealyx Pay?
In many cases, there are no fees for using Ealyx Pay, but this depends on the store. If any fees do apply, they’ll be clearly shown before you complete your payment.
Why is a financial partner involved when I use Ealyx Pay?
When you choose Ealyx Pay, a trusted financial partner advances the estimated value of your used item, allowing it to be applied immediately to your purchase. This means you can receive an instant discount without having to wait for the item to be received and inspected by the buyback partner.
Once the item has been received and inspected, Ealyx uses the confirmed value to repay and settle the financing provided by the financial partner, adjusting the amount according to the final value. This process ensures that the discount applied is accurate and that the transaction is efficient and secure for both you and our partners.
Is the Trade-in and payment process secure?
At Ealyx, your security is our top priority. We implement strict protocols to safeguard your personal information, handling all user data with the utmost confidentiality and applying rigorous security measures in line with current regulations.
Additionally, Ealyx partners with reputable financial service providers, who adhere to industry standards such as PCI DSS. This ensures that all personal and financial data is fully encrypted during transmission and storage, protecting it from unauthorized access.

How can I exercise my rights to access, modify, or delete my personal information?
To update your personal information, please email us at info@ealyx.com, specifying your request (access, modify, or delete your information). For security reasons, we may need to verify your identity. Once verified, we will process your request within 30 days.
